Why keep a pet health record?

March 6th, 2008 · 1 Comment

If you have done some research on pet health records you’ll have probably found that even though most people take extremely good care of their pets the often do not write things down. This behavior often runs through everything that they do and it is actually very common for people not to write things down.

Now what is the purpose of writing things down? Well the first and most obvious reason is to be able to remember it. Most people think that they will remember but often they don’t. Keeping a record will help you remember everything and in case you forget you will always have the option of looking things up.

The second reason is that when you have things written on paper it is a whole lot easier to get a better view of things. How are things going? Are they improving? Are there any areas that seem to be lacking? Keeping everything store in your head will often have you lose that overview of things.

Keeping a pet health record isn’t hard and will not take up much of your time. Starting a pet record can be difficult if you down know what or how to do it and luckily there are some nice people over at ValleyVet that have created a downloadable pdf pet health record sheet you that can use.

If you feel that you’ll need a solution that is a little bit fancier they’ll also send you a printed version for a minor fee.

I always recommend using paper records but if you want to keep a pet health record online instead you can visit PetHealthRecords and sign up for their service.

The reason I always recommend a paper written record is that you can bring it everywhere you go. You can put it in your bag and take it to your VET. That won’t be possible if you have it online and you would then have to print it out to bring it.
