Why Dog Pet Insurance Isn’t a Necessity

I don’t know whether you already have a dog pet insurance and are just wondering whether it is worth the money you pay once or twice a year or whether you have just bought your very first dog and you are looking for your very first insurance package.

Dog Pet Insurance PhotoWhat ever the case might be I think you will find many of the answers you’re looking for within this article. There are four major subjects that you will need to decide upon when you’re signing up for any kind of insurance. It isn’t just when it comes to securing your pet but also when securing yourself and all your belongings.

But why don’t we just dive into the four major points.

How do you feel about money?

Even though people are still searching for free insurance when they go online (I’m not sure what they are thinking) we have to face that if we want an insurance coverage for our pet or anything else we’ll have to pay an ongoing fee for that security and service.

The question will always be who will end up making a good deal. Will it be you or will it be the insurance company? You might think that it would be great if you were the one that made the good deal but that coin has two sides. If you end up making a good deal it will also mean that something bad has happened.

What you have to make up your mind about is what level of security you need and want. The higher the level the higher the price and that is therefore a major issue you’ll need to make up your mind about.

Everything or nothing – The coverage

Puppy Pet InsuranceThis goes a little into what we were talking about in the point above as there are all kinds of coverage. You can have minimal (and therefore cheaper) coverage and you can get a package that will cover almost any possible situation that you and the insurance company can think of. That package will on the other hand be really expensive.

Depending on the dog breed you have you will need to ask your vet about what will normally happen to that specific breed. Some dog breeds have a tendency to back problems while others might easily get liver complications. You will of cause need to find a pet insurance package that fits your breed and will cover those specific “risk areas”.

Are you a risk taker? – Your risk profile

Insurance is almost like playing the lottery because you’ll never know what the outcome might be. You can literally end up paying thousands to the insurance company and then see your dog die of old age without ever having to have bills paid by the company. On the other hand you might find that you’ll get far more from the insurance company that you have paid in. There will be no guaranties and one part will always end up drawing the shortest straw.

Can you trust the insurance company?

Unfortunately we often hear stories of insurance companies that just try to cut every possible corner to avoid paying the bills. You should do your outmost to avoid these companies. You’ll not find me talking bad about any specific companies because I simple do not have the statistical backing for any accusations.

What I suggest you do is to take a look around this site and see what other people have said about the different insurance companies that I’ve written articles about. I’m sure you find it to be an interesting read.
