Well, if you feel that way when looking for pet insurance in California then it is your lucky day because I’ve had the same problem and therefore I’ll try to give you some tips that will hopefully help you either find it or at least get very close to finding the right insurance.

Living in California is very different from living in a lot of other places when it comes to a great variety of things but luckily for us pet insurance in California is not much different than finding insurance coverage for your pet in most other states. Everywhere there are pet owners that love their pets enough to spend money making sure that any injuries or illnesses that their pets might experience can be treated instantly without having to think twice because of the substantial cost.
If this is your first time to insure your pet then the Union Bank of California has a great explanation of what pet insurance is and how even preventive care can be very costly because of the advanced methods we’re able to treat pets today. Earlier on many illnesses and injuries meant that you would have to let your pet go but today a lot of illnesses are treatable.
Insurance for Pets In California
Union Bank of California offers pet insurance coverage through their UBOC Insurance Services but even though I spent 10 minutes trying to find more information about it on their website it seemed that you would have to call them at 1-800-530-2512 in order to get more information about the coverage they offer. I always encourage people to call their insurance companies but the reason is that I find it to be the best way to get all the answers but I still prefer to read about it online first. IMHO Union Bank needs a website update to cover their pet insurance coverage online as well.
One of the major players is the old pet insurance company called VPI. You can find them at www.petinsurance.com and they are actually based out of California. Their website states that “Policies in California are underwritten by Veterinary Pet Insurance Co. in Brea, California. Outside California, policies are underwritten by National Casualty Company, an A+ 15 rated company in Madison, Wisconsin”.
